On July 14th, Silicon Valley Sunshine Interact hosted a webinar featuring Katie Clapp, a co-founder of FRAXA. FRAXA is the leading research foundation in Fragile X and Katie talked about the genetic condition and the research being done on it, as well as her own experience with her son, who was diagnosed with Fragile X. On July 21st, August 4th, and August 11th, the club set up a booth at the Palo Alto Farmers’ Market advocating for Fragile X awareness and handing out flyers, brochures, magnets, and pens sent by FRAXA. The booths were manned by club members Ethan Wang, Colby Wang, James Ng, Elise Chen, Angela Rao, Iris Yin, Anna Yin, and Aydin Konuk. In total, the club raised $6000 for FRAXA, and overall the fundraising event was a great success. Thank you to everyone who helped!
