On December 18, from 2 to 6 PM, Silicon Valley Sunshine Interact members helped WeHOPE in East Palo Alto with their Holiday Party and Toy giveaway for children. Sunshine Interact’s sponsor Palo Alto University Rotary Club works closely with WeHOPE, which serves the unhoused community with housing, food, skills building, counseling, and more. At the event, our volunteers helped with setting up the decorations and displays, from Christmas trees to fake snow to lights, to create a winter wonderland, and also assisted with the organization of holiday gifts for distribution to bring joy to disadvantaged children. After setting up and the starting of the party, our volunteers helped make and give popcorn, hot chocolate, and cotton candy to attendees. Thank you to members Sydney Ling, Elise Chen, Ethan Wang, Jason Hu, and Eddie Ling for their contributions in creating a warm, sparkling holiday for the East Palo Alto community.
