On October 2, a Sunday night, Silicon Valley Sunshine Interact hosted the first board member meeting. Rotary club advisor Lily Chiu and previous president’s mother Dory Ding introduced the detailed workings of the club. Lily presented the history of Rotary and the structure and purpose of the Rotary, Roteract, and Interact organizations. Dory discussed her personal experiences with the club and the impact of volunteering on her son, highlighting the importance of community service. Finally, club president Sydney Ling explained how Sunshine is part of Area 13 of the greater District 5170, and how members can connect with a greater Interact community.
